Adoption.

adoption

I think I meditate on adoption quite often. It makes sense. I grew up in foster care and got adopted at some point. It’s not fair. Seeing other whole, complete families be a family. Or pretend to be a family. Either way, it’s a whole pie. I don’t ever feel like I got a whole pie. So, I made my own. Lol.

Moses. Steve Jobs. The whole story of the New Testament in the Bible. Millions of kids around the world. All given up by their biological life tentacles, but somehow, found a way. Doesn’t mean I have. When I reflect on it, it’s usually after I have positioned myself in a new family of sorts. US Army. Various universities. Insta-snap or Facechat. It’s all relative.

But who must do the hard thing? He who can. - Trevanian

So, I join families. And grow.

Here’s to all the biological given-ups in the world. Cheers to your growth and limitless prosperity. You’ve already won.
