Listening to the one who sustains your wellness
One of the core foundations to the Christian is being able to hear from God. In the noisy world we live in today, this can be quite an arduous task. The increase in technological efficiency, increased employer demands on employees, individual production, constant distractions from social media, text messages, and insta-gratification, turns focus and self-awareness into a commodity. Combined with our day-to-day moral responsibilities it can be quite difficult as a self-aware, flawed human being to find space in a busy schedule for God.
But oh, how important and significant this is to the eternal you…
As I worked on my newly-published e-book, “Signed, You Know Who This Is”, I noticed something interesting occurred as I moved closer towards completion. The novelty around writing my first book quickly rusted away. Even the excitement of recieving profound insights into human spirituality began to wear on my spirit. Frankly, it wasn’t surprising to me anymore, especially since much of it was about me ‘missing the mark’. Eventuallly, I found myself neglecting the task of writing these insights (letters) down in my journal. Instead of writing immediately after hearing, I would push one letter to the next day, then push another to the next, and so on.
As I noticed my lack of productivity and steadfastness, I prayed that this lackadaisical ‘thorn’ be removed from me. And all I could hear was, “My grace is sufficient”.
As a Christian, Wellness ALWAYS has its roots in the true vine - Christ. You would be killing yourself by listening to the word and its ideas of focus and productivity, instead of listening to the true Vine - that is - Jesus Christ.
