#Sundayfun: Shoelaces and Wellness

The shoelace is more important than you think!

Of course, it is important to buy a great pair of shoes with great arch support.  But given the fact that human beings are constantly on their feet, shoelaces are just as important.  For example, when shoes are tied too loosely, they can cause an excessive pronation or supination of the foot. Therefore, if one runs or constantly jumps (as a basketball player, for example) during exercise, when shoes aren't properly laced, chronic instability in the foot and ankle may occur over time, and it may not be apparent until later in life.
